another week

The level of busy continues to be crazy. Ask me offline if you care about the details. Wayne was busy all week, and I was busy all week. The girls are busy all the time.

Aderyn had a 15-month check up (only a month late...) on Monday. Unfortunate timing, really, because she had gone through about 8 diapers in 4 hours time. They still had me bring her in, but didn't give her shots because they decided after asking me details and weighing Aderyn that she was too sick. They also were shocked that she had not gained an ounce in the last four months. And so I get to bring her in again tomorrow for the shots and another weighing so we can be sure she's bouncing back. Fun times.

Luckily, Aderyn and Paela were all recovered by Tuesday and eating normal foods again. Which is good, because then we could let some friends and family help with babysitting later in the week so I could go into the office. They did well, though when I took them to the mall play area on Saturday, Aderyn was clingier than normal, crying when I left her sight. She was a happy camper otherwise, trying all sorts of climbing stunts and slides on her own. Paela was happy to wander, but less ambitious with the climbing -- tights make her feet too slippery, she says.

Quote of the week: "Is Aderyn a mean baby?", asks Paela, after Aderyn took one of the toys Paela had carefully piled up.

We've been reading scriptures with Paela (sometimes Aderyn, but she doesn't really sit). This week we got to her favorite story so far -- when Jesus visited the Nephites. She remembered some of the details and asked lots of questions about it, wanting to keep reading and reading that night. And Aderyn is in love with singing time. "I'm so Glad When Daddy Comes Home" is her favorite song right now.

Winter weather returned. Good thing I hadn't even thought of putting our coats away a couple of weeks ago when we had a taste of warmer times. Ah, well, at least it was enough of a taste to remind us all that it is coming!
