happy april fool's day

We got 6 inches of snow on Friday. Every weather station's favorite joke was about mother nature pulling a spring prank on us. Luckily, it all melted again that very same day. We snuck in a snowman before it was all gone, and didn't even have to shovel. That's the kind of snowfall I'm talking about.

Wayne had a consultation about his wisdom teeth. He never had to have them out before, but they are now recommending that one of them come out. It's not urgent, so he scheduled that surgery for late May after the semester is over. Smart man, from what I remember about wisdom teeth surgery.

Aderyn had her weight check this week. She gained nearly a pound and a half in one week's time. She's back on track again. We all have colds now, but that never seems to get in the way of growing like normal, so whew.

Speaking of illnesses, apparently there is a plague in our Church building. Some volunteers went to clean the toys in the Nursery room (where Aderyn and I hang out each Sunday) and every one of them got sick afterwards. Only half of the nursery kids were there last Sunday (we were of the half missing) - the rest were sick. Let's hope it's been purged by now.

The girls got to play at a couple of friend's houses this week, and they did great. Aderyn apparently stood in one spot and watched the other kids play for an hour, but then warmed up. And Paela quickly got in the spirit of playing with one of the friends from her Sunbeam class, taking turns directing one another to go do this or that, as three-year olds do.

We all went to the zoo yesterday to enjoy 50-degree weather. The girls liked the bears and the llamas best, and the puddles. Lots of melted-snow puddles. Three of us went home with wet socks and shoes. Sadly, the pool closed early so we didn't get our second adventure. The girls settled for playing in the tub with swimsuits still on.

Conference with a one-year old is challenging.

And that is that.
