deja vu

Wayne is incredibly, overwhelmingly, insanely busy for the next several weeks, so I will take a few extra turns with our weekly update. Even when he's able to be home, we still sometimes pretend he's not so he can get more done.

I just looked at my calendar to see what we did. Spring Break was this week??? No kidding. Huh. I guess we did our job of pretending Wayne wasn't here during his usual campus time pretty well! Plus, he went to Axiom to gallery-sit Thursday evening, and spent much of his time troubleshooting some installation problems with the artist.

A friend of mine watched the girls on Tuesday so I could go into the office for a bit (I have my share of deadlines too). Paela was slow to warm up during the drop off, but did great once I had left. Aderyn was the opposite. I'm told she passed out twice, just laying down where she was, in the middle of the toys, to go to sleep for 20-30 minutes. Wow. She never does that. Either it was really stressful not having us there, or it was the beginnings of her illness.

Illness. That is where the deja vu comes in. We've all been sick this weekend, and Paela is taking the worst of the bug so far. Fever, stomach bug, hacking cough, runny nose, the works. Hopefully Wayne can escape the worst of the bug. None of us made it to Church today. I really thought you were only allotted at most one stomach bug per year. I guess I'm wrong.

We had 60-degree weather twice last week. Twice! It was so nice. We went to the park. We took wagon rides. We're back down to highs in the 40s again, with snow predicted for tomorrow. But, there's hope. Plus, we (finally) had all the snow from January melt this week, so we can handle one more inch. Especially knowing that 60-degree weather could be hiding around to say hello again.
