hospitals

This will be short.

I have been working on applications this past week. There are many to do. I am currently working on the list of schools which require letters of recommendation with the application materials, so as to facilitate the process for my recommendees. Applying to work at universities is surprisingly similar to applying for graduate school and surprisingly unlike applying for a 'real' job.

Rebecca has been busy at work finishing beta for her team. This project should be finished before the baby comes, at least that was the hope. Last night, after a few hours of false labor, the doctor requested that we come in for supervision at the hospital. We couldn't get a straight answer as to whether the doctor wanted to have the baby that night, and in the end they determined that things were looking fine for the VBAC and we should go home. The contractions have calmed somewhat -- while never in full force -- and now we are left at home with only a partial night's sleep and a toddler who wants to go to bed early.

We probably now have another week before we worry about any babies being born.
