Christmas

Our first Christmas without extended family. It wasn't 'planned' in the sense that we hadn't intended things to play out this way, but the baby's late due date and the c-section surgery changed our ability to travel. We were determined to create some sort of lasting traditions, but weren't confident how.

But we managed to still have a good Holiday celebration. We watched videos from last year with Paela on Christmas Eve and she finally realized what was going to happen on Christmas morning. Christmas day went slow. Paela took her own speed, even though we attempted to prod her along. She played with presents for a good hour before opening a new one. Rebecca and I snuck in our presents during playtime. Aderyn has been growing, but it is tricky to have two girls who both want attention at the same time and naps at different times.

But now that Christmas is over, I will get back to writing application letters. Merry Christmas.
