D'oh!

This week marked Rebecca's first full week back at work, without unpaid family leave, because her boss won't let her work from home more than just a little bit of the morning.

After we went apartment shopping last week, we placed in a bid for an apartment and now we've been waiting all week for the manager to look over our application and give us approval. We don't know whether or not we'll be moving in a few weeks, which doesn't help us much. [apparently the manager we really need took the week off because she got married. Hopefully she'll get back soon and isn't overwhelmed trying to catch up.]

Rebecca worked all day long and all evening long after Paela went to sleep. Her team at work has a project due. Last week. So they're behind.

It was really hot. Very very hot. So I went swimming lots with Paela. She has learned to hold on to daddy's arm and kick to keep herself afloat. [She holds her breath now when her face goes under water a bit...it's cute.] We still can't find time for me to work. It's too hot to sleep at night, so we don't do that either.

Church really messed up Paela's sleeping schedule. She needs that early morning one and a half hour nap so she can get her one and a half hour later in the day. But because church conflicts with her early morning nap, she can only get 45 minutes and then she's a bear all day long and won't sleep for a long time in the afternoon. [We've been going to church early on Sundays and finding an empty classroom in the hopes that'll she sleep longer. No luck yet, but we can keep hoping.]

Yesterday, while we were escaping to air conditioned places -- like the bookstore -- Paela started laughing hysterically whenever we said, "D'oh!" So, we think she's crazy. [or maybe it's the other way around]
