Salisbury Beach is a dump. The kind of dump that shouldn't still exist in this world of high technology and advanced marketing analysis. But it does, and it is a spot to treasure. It isn't that we fell in love with the "townies" who had sun-baked themselves into a cancerous leather-like skin, or the crusty boardwalk food -- but the ambiance was definitely so thick you could cut it with a knife. We decided to spend the morning of July 5th at the beach when we realized Aderyn hadn't been to the ocean yet. She was not thrilled by the cold water, almost the polar opposite of her older sister who spent the hour running up and down the beach laughing almost to hysteria [but Aderyn did enjoy feeling the sand -bec].

And funnel cake is gross.

There isn't much to do so far out of the suburbs from Boston during the summer time. Again, we went to the farm. Paela loves the baby lambs and talks about them every day. She managed to coax one to eat some grass out of her hand. That put a smile on her face. Aderyn wasn't so keen about the lambs.

To pass the time, we rearranged our furniture. This was primarily motivated because we sold our futon and wanted to put the couch in a better viewing angle [also, we usually move every year so why not at least rearrange our furniture now that we've been in this apartment for a year? :) -bec]. We cut Paela's hair again. And she cried and squirmed, again -- so her hair cut isn't straight. But with those curls, who needs an even hair cut?

Mostly, it has been hot here. It has either met or surpassed record temperatures where we live. We are grateful for our little window A/C unit and pray it will not fail us. Hope you can stay cool.
