low key

We had a pretty low-key week.

Paela and Aderyn and I made it to the last ten minutes of story time on Wednesday. I know it takes longer to get out of the house than it used to, and had been prepared for that. But when Paela kept saying "no, no story time", I took her seriously and didn't bother to wake her sister up and get us all ready to go. She changed her mind just as story time was starting, and I figured we could at least do puzzles and whatnot at the library in any case. I shouldn't have listened to Paela's change of tune, because Aderyn was most unhappy about being inconvenienced, and I didn't have any fun. Hopefully Paela at least got something out of it. Juggling two kids certainly is trickier than one.

Wayne had better classes this week, from my impression. It seems like some of the students may "get it", which is what you hope for. And I had my first full "half" week back to work (what with illnesses and holidays and vacations in the weeks before). They moved me down three floors at work while they remodel my old office space. It makes me feel a little cut off from the group, but at least it's not forever.

Saturday we opted to go to Camilla and Victor's house in the morning to hang out. We thought we'd go swimming in the afternoon, but ended up not feeling like it since Paela was cranky from not taking a nap. Or rather, from falling asleep for ten minutes in the car on the way home and then not taking any more nap. But she did enjoy seeing the dogs and cats and birds and lizards at Petsmart when we ran an errand up that direction.

It's just as well, anyway, since Paela caught her cousin's stomach flu. Today, we left Church in a hurry, scrambling for a last minute substitute teacher, and we'll leave the description at that.

There, told you it was a low key week -- excepting Church today, of course.
