two words, two balloons, two emails

The leaves are piling up outside, so Wayne and Paela explored the leaves one afternoon. They made a big pile and jumped in them, and collect nice ones to make into a collage. Paela wasn't sure what her dad was asking her to do at first...but when he showed her she quickly got into the spirit of things.

They also went to the cider mill again with Camilla and Cameron one afternoon. Paela can eat an entire caramel covered apple on her own, but drinking hot cider is not really her thing right now. Which is funny, considering she'll drink warm bath water out to wazoo.... Wayne let her pick out her own "baby" pumpkin, which she took her time finding the perfect pumpkin to bring home. She would show Wayne pumpkin after pumpkin before deciding on one in particular. And she has good taste in pumpkins, as it turns out, if you ignore the fact that a bug had eaten a hole in the bottom of it and it was dripping its insides. Wayne quietly exchanged it for another near perfect baby pumpkin, but mums the word on that.

Speaking of mum being the word, we took Paela to our town fair and parade yesterday to see what that was all about. We think she enjoyed it, since she watched intently everything going on. She is the sort to quietly absorb everything going on around her before jumping into the fray; we were excited to see "our Paela" again as we walked away from the fair, and she bounced the two balloons in her hands and giggled like mad.

Though I think I probably can't get away with carrying her anymore -- at least not while still carrying baby number two. I did a lot of lifting her up so Paela could see the bag pipes or the marching band better, and my back is complaining loudly at me now. Sigh.

Camilla picked me up to see the General Relief Society broadcast at Church on Sunday, and it was nice getting together with the ladies to hear some good talks. Now we have all of General conference to look forward to this weekend.

And Wayne and I snuck out after Paela's bedtime Friday evening to see a movie we'd been excited about. Camilla and Victor and Cameron hung out at our place while we were out, thankfully. :)

It was a busy week at work; I was hardly at my desk doing "real" work at all. Meetings, meetings, meetings. At least some of them were productive, but not nearly as much as should have been. Hopefully this week I'll be able to move forward on projects again.

I think that's about it for the week. I'd had another email written, but the computer hibernated on me and failed to respond again, so I lost it. Second time's a charm, I'm hoping!
