world records

Paela with an arm downPaela set a new world record for herself. She fell asleep at 8 last night and slept and slept...until 6:30 in the morning. Whoa. It's the longest she's ever slept in a row. Who knows when she'll decide to do it again, but we kept waking up all night wondering if she was still okay!

Maybe she was making up for a week of sleeping only 3-4 hours in a row at a time. Maybe she liked that we put her to sleep for naps with one arm free yesterday, and both arms swaddled at night time. Or maybe the walk we took yesterday exhausted her enough to sleep ten and a half hours. Not that she was awake for more than ten minutes of the walk, but she definitely enjoyed those first ten minutes -- soaking up the whole wet world (everyone else gets snow...we get lots of rain) around her -- and then she cozied up for the rest of the walk. We tried to walk a painting down to fedex to ship it, but Wayne's paintings are just too big, and we had to give up that plan not too far into it and just do a plain ole walk.

We also saw a movie called King of Kong yesterday at Chris and Alyssa's house. I can't recommend it enough...we both enjoyed the documentary about Donkey Kong world record setters. I can't believe how much these people play video games, but it was too much fun watching the movie about them.

We celebrated Groundhog day with the traditional ground hog for breakfast, with the movie in the background, and then we cleaned house like crazy. The rest of the week was pretty usual...Wayne was with Paela three days of the week while I went to work, and I was with Paela two days while Wayne went to school. Financially it will be tough having me only work three days a week for awhile, but I have to admit it is nice to be able to just play with Paela Tuesdays and Thursdays instead of working from home. We still like weekends best though, when we all get to play together. Work is interesting right now as the new team is developing web applications for company use, and I am learning about javascript and servelets. My coworkers enjoyed meeting Paela on Tuesday when I took her to a team lunch...she was nice and timed her meal to be done before going, so I didn't have to worry about how to feed her in front of coworkers. Tongue out

Church was good today. Lots of tribute to President Hinckley and remembering what he's done and taught as prophet and president of the Church. It's good to remember.
