Paela the chatterbox

wayne's picture

Paela laughingIn a moment of desperation, we got out and assembled a hanging/moving mobile to keep Paela's interest. While it did keep her minorly stimulated for a few minutes, we have found that she is becoming more interested in objects in general. She waits for the hanging objects to come her way, grabs them, and then pulls with all her might to force the mobile backwards on its mechanized track.

And now she is three months. I guess she was three months a couple weeks ago, but now she is acting like a three month old, minus any form of standardized sleeping habits. Rebecca keeps hoping that her 7-hour nights (plus a three hour nap afterwards) will become regular, but they are often followed by many nights of three three-hour sleeps. But at least she sleeps equally well on the floor as in her crib -- this is probably a good skill to encourage her to practice, for the sake of future road trips.

And as Rebecca finished the last of her cake decorating class [mmm...cake...], I began my classes. Hopefully this semester, I will put together what will become my thesis defense. I imagine I will need some sort of plan to make this happen, but I'm not exactly sure where to begin.

The rest of the week wasn't as exciting as past weeks. We tended to run errands and take care of business. We went to the dentist and everyone at the office played with the baby and danced with her. We found out that due to employee purchased stocks that we owe a large sum in taxes, unless we invest in an IRA quickly. And we took some junk we were happy to get rid of to a swap meet at church on Saturday [and took someone else's junk home with us...it was nice in theory to trim down our "stuff"].

Aside from the unusual, it was a usual week. Because I can't think of anything better to write, I'll post more pictures.
