A short message:

With the advent of school, things have quickly come to an abrupt halt in the adventure district. School started with force and most of my time is spent reading theory texts. We already began our schedule of getting home late. Tuesday night, after class got out at nine, Rebecca met me downtown because I went out to dinner with colleagues. I'm still not sure of the best way to become an active member in my academic circle.

Wednesday evening, Rebecca and I stayed up working on a collaborative project on ego-surfing. We tapped out some quick code which evaluates google's search results for references to my work under any keyword search. My art theory course wanted us to create a diagram/project to place ourselves in the art community.

As you can see, there wasn't much to mention on the first half of the week. Jon and Faith came to visit after we went to a Friday night church dinner. Which gave us something fun to do on Saturday. We spent most of the day in San Francisco, where it was much cooler than the 90 degree weather we were having in San Jose. The past year that Rebecca and I have been in the Bay Area, we have never done many of the typical tourist things. When we plan to do activities, tourism isn't high on that list. But it was nice to eventually go and visit pier 39, and a submarine, and etc. And we made it over to the Japanese Tea Gardens in the Golden Gate Park.

And after a cool Saturday, we drove back to the hot weather and kept things on the down-low for the rest of the evening.
