Brooks Q.

Today my baby is 1 month old...1 month! Where exactly has the last month gone? 3 kids has completely turned my life upside down (I'll have to blog about that another time), thus this post is so late! But without further ado, I bring you our newest addition, Brooks Quentin Andrus. He is an unbelievably good baby, and I'm so thankful for that.

Dancing Queen

Look who started dance and absolutely LOVES it!

Just a quick catch-up on the last few weeks of summer. Yesterday we were able to go to Hogle Zoo for my birthday, and it was such a pleasant evening. The weather was perfect, the kids were actually good, and nobody was there...and I mean nobody!

About 3 weeks ago we were able to spend the day in Park City with some of our favorite people! We spent the day shopping and eating - what more could we ask for!!
Millie and Connor

Meg and Ty

And the last Tuesday in August we went (along with the rest of the world!!) to The Farm at Thanksgiving Point. It was a very hot day, I had to chase Tyler ALL OVER, and at the end I realized I'd locked my keys in the car - not my finest moment! Let's just say I'm in no rush to get back there. But I think the crazy kiddos had fun regardless!

She thought it was pretty darn cool that there was a cow there that had the same name as her!

I can't believe summer has pretty much come to an end, and that Autumn is upon us - it's about time, I say! I think I will be most happy when it is finally October and I can tell people that this baby is due next month....even if it is pretty much the last day of the month. Oh well. Hope you all had as fantastic a summer as well!

My big, little 2 year old!

Tyler turned two back on August 5th, and we had a great weekend celebrating. We started his birthday morning off by putting candles in his home cooked Eggo waffle - we go all out at the Andrus household! Per the video below, you can see how much he HATED the candles! I think he's still a little scarred from fireworks.

I'm not sure who was more excited for this day, Tyler or his big sister! He got some bubbles from his buddies on our street, and he couldn't wait to try them out.
That afternoon we did lunch with Grandma at Chick-fil-A, and then later headed over to her house for Ty's pizza and bounce house party. It was a lot of fun with lots of cousins going crazy in that thing. Some of the cute cousins! And don't worry, there were no candles on these cupcakes!! Happy Birthday little guy - we love you so much and can't believe you're two. Tyler is growing up so fast, which might be needed at this point since his little brother will be arriving in November - so far away, yet not soon enough!

Never a dull moment!

This crazy little guy keeps me on my toes, but I sure do love him!

Studio 5

It's been a month now, but my sister Lyndsay and I were able to get our little website Simply Utah to be featured on the show Studio 5. It was an exciting day for us, and we invited Mindy, Julieanne, and my mom to join us for the segment (we missed you Katie and Jess!). It was really cool to see how a show like that actually comes together, and of course the set is always so much smaller in person. I had a nasty cold and sound nasally, so I made Lyndsay go on, and of course she was beautiful and fantastic! All in all it was a fun experience and I'm glad we did it! We ended the day by going to lunch at the Blue Lemon downtown, and it was fantastic. Thanks Lyns for such a fun day and I'm glad we accomplished our goal!!

Pictures for Ryan

For Ryan's birthday I decided to get him what every guys wants. . . pictures of his kids! He actually really needed some for his office, so here's what he got:

(We took in 3 balloons for Millie to hold since she was turning 3 the following week. And of course they had to be pink!)

(This is actually Tyler's favorite book, and he is always always always asking us to read it to him! So I thought it would be cute to snap a picutre of him reading it; plus he actually says the words!)

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Finally!

This little guy went to nursery for the first time on Sunday - can you say hallelujah? He is such a different child than Millie ever was, always into something. To sum him up in one word: e x h a u s t i n g! If he's not going through the bathroom drawers or pulling out the garbage in the garbage cans, then he can be found pulling out all of the dirty dishes in the dishwasher or undoing my nicely folded piles of laundry! And then there's the addiction to climbing things, specifically my kitchen table!

Ryan and I are making bets on how many trips to the doctor for stitches we'll be making for this kid! But then he just has to give me a look like this and I seem to forget why I was so frustrated with him in the first place:

Or wear your sister's headband and make me laugh!
Oh Tyler, I pray that we both make it to your next birthday!! In the meantime, thanks for being my workout every day, since you're the reason I don't have time to fit a real one in!

Happy Birthday Millie!

Millie turned 3 this last week, and what a week it was. I feel like we've been partying for 3 straight days, and my house looks like it, too! Her actual birthday was on Thursday, and we had a lot of fun that day. We went to lunch at Wingers with some family, saw the movied Tangled for the second time with her little cousin Libby, and then headed out for pizza at Rock Creek that night with some more family - that's my kind of day, where you don't have to cook!

The following day she had a little friend party, and by little I mean there were 15 kids there! This was my first experience in throwing a child's birthday party, and while it was a tad stressful (only because I made it that way!), I had a lot of fun planning for it. Since she was going to have girls and boys at the party, I knew we had to choose a theme that worked for both, so we went with a cowgirl/cowboy birthday party. My awesome SIL made this adorable shirt for Millie to wear - I LOVE how it turned out!

So the party started out by dressing the kids up like cowboys/cowgirls with some bandanas, cowboy hats, sheriff badges, and of course no cowboy is complete without a mustache on a stick!

(We're missing a few kids in these pics - it was a little hard trying to get them to all line up and hold still for a picture!!)

Then we played some awesome (I use that term loosely) games, like toss the bean bag in your cowboy hat, pin the mustache on the outlaw, and we even tried to lasso some horses! The kids were really cute playing the games, so it made it a lot of fun. Next it was time for presents, and I must admit Millie got so spoiled! She got so many fabulous gifts - thanks friends!

And then finally the cake. . . sorta. Since I don't know a thing about decorating cakes, I went with the 'ole Dunford chocolate chocolate donuts, accompanied by some chocolate milk - yum!

(I had to throw in a picture of this cute little guy!)
And last but not least, my favorite item from the party was the little party favor I made - cowgirl cookies in a jar! It had all of the dry ingredients needed to make chocolate chip and M&M cookies, with the recipe on the back of the jar - I thought they turned out really cute, and I even had an extra jar so I tried them out and they were really good!!

Overall, it was a such a fun couple of days, and I think I'd even venture to do this again! Thanks everyone for coming, and helping us celebrate Millie's 3rd birthday! And Millie, we love you and hope you had a great birthday!
