What has become of my life?

Since I went back to work 10 weeks ago, I feel like my life has completely changed. I have done a complete 180 and feel like I've lost touch with the world, and my blogging has completely been lacking. So I will try to fill you in in a few short posts.

Back in October:
  • We had our good friends the Griffeths in town for a weekend, and I must admit we had such a fun time - we miss you guys, are you sure you don't want to move here?? A few of the highlights were going to "Boo at the Zoo" where we took Millie and Nate trick or treating....okay, Lindsay and I really went and cut in line and got the candy...and when I say Lindsay, I mean me! We ate some good food and helped celebrate Wes' birthday. Us girls did a bit of shopping, not nearly as much as we would have liked, but that's okay - there's always next time! The guys were able to golf twice, which I thought was pretty lucky. We went to the pumpkin patch, played Hearts, and just plain hung out. Good times!

  • Ryan was able to attend his "Swearing In" ceremony for the state of Utah. He is now officially official and we couldn't be prouder!

  • Millie can now do all sorts of new tricks. She has been crawling for weeks now, and thankfully I was home to see her do it for the first time! She loves to clap, shake her head back and forth when you ask her to "go crazy", she loves to point to mama and dada in the picture we have of us from our wedding in our room, she pulls herself up to a standing position everywhere, and plenty more! Going to bed now is a real treat because she just pulls herself up in her crib and looks over the edge. Ryan peeked in on her tonight and she was standing up at the end of her crib, and then she laid her head down to rest on the ledge - too cute! She has 2 teeth on the bottom now, and I love it when she grins! She is a very good baby, and has been such a trooper with me going back to work. She has been passed around to many people (thank you all!), and has adjusted pretty well to her new crazy routine. Love you Mil - can't wait 'til the day I can stay home with you again!

Cutest Little Piggy

We dressed Millie up in her Halloween costume a little early so her Grandpa Andrus could see her, and I thought she looked so adorable!

Daddy-Daughter Date

We didn't have a babysitter for Millie today, so I took the day off and have been having a great day with the Little Pill. I've been dying to get up into one of the canyons to see the leaves before the dang Utah winter hits, so Millie and I took a short trip up Little Cottonwood Canyon. It was a bit cool for my liking, but we had a great time. Millie enjoyed being outside and seeing the trees, the river, and playing in the dirt (Mom would have freaked out if she saw Millie digging her hands in the dirt). Here are a few pictures from our outing.

IT'S OFFICIAL...

Ryan has PASSED the Bar exam - wahoo! I've never seen this kid be so happy about anything in my life....okay, maybe his daughter's birth, but that's about it. We got the letter in the mail last night, and to celebrate Ryan ran to the grocery store and bought me a Root Beer, him a Mtn Dew, and 2 bags of mini candy bars....he went all out! Now when I don't do something he asks me to, he threatens to sue me. Oh well, I'll take that. Congrats Ryan, we knew you'd do it!

It's funny how one test can make or break your future in a sense. We now feel like the last 5 years (since he decided to go this route) have been worth it, and hopefully it will pay off for us now. If anyone needs anything to burn in a fire, Ryan has plenty of Bar exam studying books you can have.

Notice anything different about Me???

Tagged!

I've actually never completed a "tagging" assignment before, mostly due to the fact that I'm just plain lazy and I figure no one wants to know all these little things about me. But then again, you are reading my blog, so maybe you do want to know. Either way, here goes:

1- I was getting ready to turn 16 and taking private driving lessons due to the fact that we lived far from CHHS, and I would have to drive myself to school (I'm sure you can imagine how sad I was about this...yeah right!) Did I ever mention I failed my driving test?? I turned onto a "do not enter" street...who does that?!
2-Playing softball was my life - go Bullets!
3-Hanging out with friends as much as possible, and thinking we were going to be cool since we were going to be Sophomores! (If only I knew then what I know now!)
4-We had just moved into our new house in South Jordan, which was the first time I had ever moved. That was kind of an adjustment.
5-I'm sure I had already picked out what I was going to wear the first day of school....ok, more like the first 10 days of school - I'm such a planner!
6-I got my first attack with kidney stones and had to go to the hospital the day before school started. I was afraid I was going to miss my first day of high school, but don't worry, I didn't!

Tomorrow's To Do:
1-Clean the house, as usual.
2-Get Millie's diaper bag packed 'cause we're going to Park City for the afternoon/evening with friends. Can you say Baja Cantina? Yum!
3-Play with Millie!
4-Maybe put together a long overdo scrapbook, but probably not.
5-Watch the Olympics - I can't get enough!

Places I have lived....not very exciting!
1- Idaho Falls, ID (born there)
2- West Jordan
3- South Jordan
4- Provo - that's Ryan's favorite city, just ask him!
5-Holladay
6- Murray
7- Vegas, baby!
8- Herriman

If I were a millionaire....
1-I would open up my own candy store and not worry if I ate all of the profits! This is my lifelong dream, seriously. And my friend Milli and I even came up with the name for it when we were like 12 years old - "Sheboygan's Sweet Shop". Pretty catchy, eh!
2- I would never have to work again and leave my baby...I get sad just thinking about having to do this soon.
3- I would take golf lessons, buy some cute golfing outfits, and play better than my husband!
4- Shop, shop, and more shopping!
5- Buy a vacation home somewhere warm for Ryan, so I won't have to hear him complain about the weather in the winter.
6- I would go to London since I still have not been taken there....hint, hint!

My Favorite Snacks...
1- Currently I can't get enough of those fruit roll-ups that are sold individually in the fruit section at the grocery stores. They are addicting!
2- Love the "Apple Pie" caramel apples at the Rocky Mtn Chocolate Factory. They just opened one up at The District and my punch card is already almost full.
3-Ice cream
4-Easy Mac
5-Cereal

JINXED

As a new parent, I always knew this day would happen, I was just hoping it wouldn't be so soon. Last night as we were feeding Millie some peaches, Ryan and I had the following conversation:

Ryan: Do you realize that Millie has still never done something?
Me: What's that?
Ryan: Pooped in the tub....knock on wood
Me: Don't say that out loud, you just jinxed us!
Not even one hour later we were giving Mil a bath, and she started making some extra bubbles. I tried to tell Ryan that we should get her out, but he wasn't having that. Next thing we know, we see a brown floaty!! I know that's gross, but it was seriously funny due to the fact that we had just discussed it. And of course Ryan made me fish it out - yuck! But how could I be too mad when she is so cute?

This is actually the 2nd time he has jinxed us with something like this in like 3 days. On Friday I went to the Riverton pool with my sister, and I asked Ryan if he wanted to come since he had the day off. He said, "Why would I want to swim in a fecal contaminated pool when I can hit a bucket of balls." So off he went to hit some golf balls while we swam. Not even a 1/2 hour later, they closed the pool for the day due to some kid pooping in the pool....again, gross. I think Ryan should keep his comments to himself for awhile!

This is her little sad face since we had to leave the pool! Don't pay attention to her swimming suit being a little too big, she's between sizes right now. But I put her in this one 'cause I love it!
